The year was 1990. Comics were hot. Trading Cards were hot. Batman was hot. So what was Marvel going to do? Make trading cards. The first series of Marvel Cards
kind of slipped out and nobody really took notice. These cards were okay, but just really not jaw dropping. Some of the series cards could be found with toy figures
at the same time- sort of a dual ploy to start collecting the cards or the toys. Not very far after the Series one hit the shelves, Marvel Released the Uncanny X-men Series
of cards. These cards were drawn by Jim Lee and were a far superior card. After them came the Marvel Universe trading
cards. These cards were much better and were worthy of the Marvel name.
